Ninety-Day Program
Most residential programs are designed for a thirty-day length of stay. This number was historically generated by non-clinically relevant factors, such as insurance demands. In fact, numerous scientific studies have shown that lengths of rehabilitation less than those offered in a ninety-day program lead to significantly greater rates of relapse. Addiction is a chronic condition with a high relapse rate anyway. The longer the treatment itself, the greater the chance of maintaining sobriety after the treatment has ended, of course given that an adequate and supportive environment follows. In some studies the difference between a thirty-day program and a ninety-day program can result in as much as two times a greater rate of sobriety. Tekuma Recovery supports a ninety-day program.
