Tekuma Recovery Group - Drug Rehab Program |
The treatment of alcohol and drug addiction is typically complicated by the presence of additional psychological conditions (commonly referred to as a ‘dual diagnosis’). If these underlying conditions are not treated, the substance abuser is most likely not going to be able to achieve lasting sobriety. Most drug rehab programs for drug and alcohol abusers, including typical 12 step addiction programs, neglect to determine whether the participant has another psychological condition and rather innocently attempt to treat only the most obvious addiction. This neglect is a consequence of a kind of anti-medical, anti-psychiatric prejudice, which often means the abuser will continue to struggle with an addiction as well as an underlying psychological condition.
Tekuma Recovery Group Recovery recommends only a drug rehab program in Israel, which is fully equipped to identify and treat a dual diagnosis. A dual diagnosis includes, in addition to substance dependency, a range of psychological conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolarity, post-traumatic stress disorder, and various forms of temporary and/or chronic psychoses. Some of these conditions should be treated with supplemental medication, as well. Again, if a dual diagnosis is left untreated, the patient will most likely be unable to maintain sobriety despite having previously participated in a drug rehab program, or several programs.
The percentage of participants in the drug rehab program Tekuma Recovery Group recommends is about equally divided between those suffering from alcoholism and those suffering from opiate addictions. Tekuma Recovery Group does not subscribe to the idea of separating the treatment of alcoholism from the treatment of other addictions because the treatment protocol for substance dependence is largely the same. |
