Meet Dr. Bellin
Dr. Bellin, the founder of the Tekuma Recovery Group, is a graduate and former faculty member of the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He completed his undergraduate work in political science at Dartmouth College and then studied medicine at the University of California in Los Angeles.
Dr. Bellin completed his medical internship at Maimonides Hospital in Brooklyn, followed by a psychiatric residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. He completed a fellowship in Community Psychiatry at the Bronx Psychiatric Center and a second fellowship in Family Therapy at the Philadelphia Child Guidance Center under the supervision of Dr. Salvador Minuchin. With Dr. Minuchin and other colleagues, he founded the Family Studies Center of New York City.
For the past six years, Dr. Bellin has served as staff psychiatrist at Silver Hill Hospital in New Canaan, Connecticut. He has treated patients in every department of the hospital including its detoxification, dual diagnosis, acute care, and residential units.
At Silver Hill, Dr. Bellin hosts and trains numerous visiting Israeli clinicians who specialize in chemical and alcohol dependency treatment in Israel. Some of these clinicians have returned to Israel to serve as important members of Therapeutic Communities in Israel and have maintained significant collaborative relationships with Dr. Bellin and Tekuma Recovery Group.
